Stormwater Device Repairs - Pembrooke HOA, Lexington Park, MD
Repairs to three large stormwater ponds for the Pemrbooke HOA in Lexington Park, MD. Repairs included filling in and stabilizing erosion, removing sediment from inside of the ponds, and repairing sunken stone and pipe aprons.
The community shouldn’t have a problem getting through their MDE Inspection this Spring.
“Our HOA hired McKenzie Contracting to complete the repairs on three severely damaged stormwater retention ponds in our neighborhood. We met personally with the owner, Gene McKenzie, for a quote to repair the damages. He was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. When heavy rains required a delay in the schedule, Gene provided us immediate notification. When work began, the McKenzie crew was thorough, yet efficient. They were careful not to damage the property of those neighbors that might be disturbed by the heavy equipment being utilized on the common areas. Gene and his crew ensured the common area property was repaired in an appropriate fashion. Gene also kept us updated throughout the process with weekly summaries of the progress. With the record-setting rains this year, additional damage was caused at the ponds between the time of the quote and the time of repair. While this understandably created a higher than expected repair cost, Gene worked with our small HOA to ensure we were able to pay these costs while also meeting the HOA's monthly budget obligations. And, although the pond damages were greater than originally estimated, the crew finished the work ahead of schedule.Upon completion of the repairs, the HOA surveyed the ponds. It was agreed that the pond repairs exceeded the expectations. There is no question that Gene McKenzie and his crew performed outstanding and superior work for our community! We highly recommend them for anyone considering their services.”

A bio-retention pond is used to collect and filter all stormwater run off from impervious surface on the property. This new construction home, being built on the water, is required to filter it's own rain water before it is released back into the Patuxent River. All rain leaders from the roof and the trench drain from the driveway all lead to this pond to help filter the run off.
